La Bella Sicilia

Thank you for visiting my Website. I have added many new images, including those from a recent trip to Sicily, Italy. They are in two Galleries, one called SICILY: The Scenery, the other, SICILY: The People.

SICILY: The Scenery Gallery images reflect the more creative aspect of my photography, where I enhance the camera’s eye with artistic interpretations. Sicily is a remarkably picturesque place, and our recent journey there only revealed a very small part of the island’s beauty.

SICILY: The People Gallery speaks for itself. Sicily is the land of my Italian heritage, so many of the people shown here are related to me—a few generations removed, but related nonetheless.

Several of the pictures in this gallery were taken at a dinner my relatives hosted especially for my wife and me at al Faro Blu Pizzeria in Campofelice di Roccelfa. This was truly a remarkable event: Thirty-five of my newly-found relatives, young and old, turned out to meet a member of their family whom they had never heard of before, and whose ancestors left Sicily for the U.S. more than 105 years ago.

From the relatives and our terrific guide Salvatore to the lady at the Harley-Davidson exhibit and the gentlemen at the fish market, everyone we encountered in Sicily was friendly and helpful. Many of them are pictured here.
